Day 04 – Pokhara to Deurali (2100m) via Kande, half an hour drive; 4-5 hrs trek

We drive to the trailhead, the route from Kande is a good one and very few trekkers choose to start the trek from here. The trail is good, first slowly up, then a bit steeper to Australian Camp (2060m,around one hour), then after an early lunch slightly downhill to Pothana (1950m) and the ACAP/TIMS checkpoint, then up again to Deurali (2100m). Overnight stay at Lodge in Deurali.

From Deurali, the trail passes through the jungle, rising and falling we reach towards the top of a ridge. Overnight stay at Forest Camp.

Day 06 – Forest Camp to Low Camp (2970m), 4-5 hrs trek

The trail is initially quite steep leaving Forest Camp but soon gets less steep as we again have to get upon the ridge. Overnight stay at Low Camp.

Day 07 – Low Camp to High Camp (3540m), 3-4 hrs trek

The trail leaves Low Camp again in jungle, but the trees soon start to get smaller and after about one hour, trekking broke out of the jungle and onto the open ridge with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South to ours left. The trail then swiftly moves along the ridge and after about 3 hours trekking we arrived at High Camp (3540m). Overnight stay at Lodge.

Day 08 – Day trip around Mardi Base Camp (4500m) and back to High Camp

It is possible to continue trekking along the ridge for another 4 to 5 hours to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m) and return to High Camp in around 4 hours. This makes a long day but there is also a viewpoint about half way. Overnight stay at Lodge.
